Het is een accessoire en werkt alleen met het Soft Gripper basisdeel (artikel 103546, apart verkrijgbaar); zonder basisdeel kan het niet grijpen. De SG-a-S heeft dezelfde vorm als de SG-a-H, maar de top van het gereedschap is zacht (een zacht deel van 16 mm). Daardoor is het toegeeflijker voor kwetsbare items en voor werkstukken die in maat vari\u00ebren.<\/p>\n<p>OnRobot merkt op dat het zachte deel het draagvermogen kan verlagen ten opzichte van de harde siliconen gereedschappen; voor de SG-a-S geeft de datasheet tot 1,5 kg, gemeten met een ABS-cilinder van 65 mm, en de werkelijke waarde hangt af van vorm, zachtheid en wrijving. De grijpafmetingen zijn 11 tot 75 mm met een grijpdiepte tot 38 mm. Het gereedschap weegt 0,168 kg inclusief smart-lock en meet 76 mm bij 112 mm in diameter. Het gereedschap wordt met een quick-lock- en smart-lock-mechanisme op het basisdeel bevestigd en is verwisselbaar. Het is gemaakt van tweecomponenten-siliconenrubber dat voldoet aan FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 (getest voor niet-vette levensmiddelen) en EG 1935\/2004, is ontworpen voor 2.000.000 bedieningscycli en is vaatwasserbestendig. Scherpe randen aan een werkstuk kunnen het siliconen beschadigen.
