OnRobot Soft Gripper tool SG-a-S

The SG-a-S is a silicone gripping tool for the OnRobot Soft Gripper. It is an accessory and works only with the Soft Gripper base part (item 103546, sold separately); without the base part it cannot grip. The SG-a-S has the same shape as the SG-a-H, but the end of the tool is soft (a 16 mm soft part). That makes it more forgiving for fragile items and for workpieces that vary in size.

OnRobot notes that the soft part can reduce payload compared with the hard silicone tools; for the SG-a-S the datasheet gives up to 1.5 kg, measured with a 65 mm ABS cylinder, and the real value depends on shape, softness and friction. The grip dimensions are 11 to 75 mm with a grip depth of up to 38 mm. The tool weighs 0.168 kg including its smart-lock and measures 76 mm by 112 mm in diameter. The tool attaches to the base part with a quick-lock and smart-lock mechanism and can be exchanged. It is made of two-component silicone rubber that complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 (tested for non-fatty foods) and EC 1935/2004, is rated for 2,000,000 operation cycles and is dishwasher-safe. Sharp edges on a workpiece can damage the silicone. Choose the SG-a-H when payload matters more, or the finger-shaped SG-b-H for wider items.
