OnRobot VGP30

The OnRobot VGP30 is a pneumatic vacuum gripper for heavy boxes and demanding palletizing. Unlike the electric VG10, VGC10 and VGP20, it creates vacuum from a compressed air supply of 3 to 7 bar. That gives up to 440 L/min total air flow, which lets it hold cardboard, porous packaging and irregular loads that challenge lower-flow vacuum grippers. OnRobot gives a maximum payload of 30 kg on cardboard boxes.

The VGP30 has 20 suction cups on two channels, A and B, that run together or independently, and intelligent vacuum control adjusts the air flow to the vacuum level set for the application. Gripping takes about 150 ms and releasing about 80 ms. Vacuum cups with check valves are available as an accessory (item 115181) and help when cups land on seams or gaps. They need firmware 1.0.13 or higher.

The compressed air must be filtered to ISO 8573-1 class 4, and OnRobot offers a filter regulator kit (item 114743) that is sold separately. The gripper weighs 3.1 kg, measures 390 x 240 x 62 mm, runs on 24 V and is rated IP54. For robots rated 20 kg and above, OnRobot requires its torque reinforcement bracket.
